AppRENTICESHIPS IN SCIENCE & ENGINEERING
Where Saturday Academy facilitates about 150 internships to Oregon students each year. Selected students work with mentors in fields like Biology, Health or Medical, Earth or Environmental Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics. The application opens in late November and is due in early March each year.
PSU INVENTION BOOTCAMP
Invention Bootcamp Program at Portland State University. Applications open in the fall and are due in early March each year. This summer program is open to 25 high school students. All high school students are encouraged to apply, regardless of background or skill level. They encourage students to apply who are underrepresented or who haven’t previously considered a career in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) field but are interested in learning more. There is no experience necessary.
There is no cost to students and lunch is provided daily. (Program valued at $1,000)
The Application will require you to answer TWO free-response questions.
